Canada First initiative

The Canada First initiative strives to prioritize Canadians and Canadian corporations for goods and services. This will prevent Canada from becoming dependent on foreign entities (governments, corporations, and people) who may have ulterior interests.

There are many facets to the Canada First initiative:

  • quality education
  • diverse economy
  • market competition
  • encouraging small and medium-sized businesses
  • encouraging co-operatives
  • restricting corporate ownership of residential property and farmland
  • restricting foreign ownership and influence

The Canada First initiative will support all sectors — from mining to manufacturing to high technology — to make Canada quasi-self-sufficient and a competitive internationally.

The Canada First initiative will promote modernization for sustainability and environmental stewardship, so that future generations have a safe and prosperous society.

Quality education

Quality education is critical to a strong society and economy.

The less educated a person is, the easier it is to con them with false information.

The more educated a person is, the better they understand their area of expertise and know when to consult experts in other areas.

A NovaConservative government is committed to the highest quality education in Canada, and will strive to excel internationally.

A NovaConservative government will look internationally for quality education programs, and integrate the best aspects thereof in Alberta. As members of the NovaConservative party have education backgrounds, some aspects include

  • a commitment to balancing academics, social-growth, and physical education
  • a commitment to teaching and demonstrating equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • a return to recognizing academic, social, and physical excellence
  • rapid investigation of bullying, both of the incident(s) and teachers who enabled it

Grade inflation is rampant, but benefits no-one and is detrimental to learning. A NovaConservative government will establish standardized provincial exams in grades 6, 9, and 12.

K-12 should prepare students to enter the workforce, to enter vocational programs, and/or to enter academic programs. Skills to manage the challenges of post-secondary and the workforce must be taught in K-12. These include the ability to handle challenges, the ability to overcome adversity, the ability to positively interact with others, and the ability to positively interact with others. In order to challenge learners, there must be consequences for non-performance; learners in senior grades can be held back if they do sufficiently poorly in their current year.

Restricting corporate ownership of residential property and farmland

The concentration of wealth detailed elsewhere has provided corporations with the ability to buy up residential property and farmland, and then rent it to tenants. This further concentrates wealth and disenfranchises residents from being able to own a home and build weath.
